What Day Is This?

Clearly the world teems with people who regard this day as the start of a new year. In widely accepted terms, this is January 1st, the first day of the year of our Lord 2016.

Alas, this understanding is vulnerable to a scripturally more precise calculation placing Christ's birth in what is now designated 2 B.C.E.

Also, our Lord would have had scant interest in Janus, a Roman god, after whom January is named. To Christ this would be the month of Tevet. At least that is so to those embracing the Jewish calendar as infallible. According to that calendar this is the 20th of Tavet, 5776. Certain calculations based on Bible chronology point to Adam's creation over 6000 years ago making the year 5776 open to question.

So then, what day is this?
